I ACCUSE!

I accuseThe bashing of Israel since its birth in 1948 continues unabated especially in times when Israel had no choice but to defend itself against recalcitrant Arab enemies bent on its destruction. You may wonder, what is it with Israel whose contributions in health, biotechnology, agriculture, and the largest concentration of high-tech companies outside Silicon Valley, provokes so much hatred and unjust criticisms, unequal to any other country in the world? If it is about the bogus “occupation” It is certainly not for want that successive Israeli governments have tried in vain to reach peace with enemies who publicly avow Israel’s annihilation; in fact, no nation has made more concessions over the years to its arch enemies than Israel. I wonder just what method would be legitimate and acceptable to the international community when dealing with an enemy who will only accept wiping you off the face of the Earth? How much retaliation is necessary and/or justified? Ironically, it is worth mentioning that time and time again, throughout successive Israeli governments, in spite of Palestinian terror and incitement, each time Israel has conceded or retreated, especially after the 2005 disengagement from Gaza where over 10,000 Jews were thrown out of their homes and businesses, the world community reacted with even more incendiary criticism, heightened anti-semitism, scrutiny and condescension. So what is instigating this global loathing?

The strong bias and double-standards against Israel is becoming so bizarre, that I have come to the realization that those who are throwing these blanket accusations and wholesale blame against Israel have realized that if you aspire to become a great leader in the international community, gain friends throughout the world, and especially receive plenty of funding, all you’ll have to do is preach hatred and criticism towards the Jewish state. It is a risible advise, but one that works plenty. Just pick a few examples to substantiate this counsel – Yasser Arafat, the most prominent and diabolical terrorist leader of the past century, who pioneered airline hijacking and suicide bombers against civilians, enjoyed the status of some sort of statesman, was more invited by the then Clinton administration than any other world leader and was awarded the Nobel Prize! left wing organizations such as “J street” who is a haven for those who seek to censure Israel and campaign to discredit Israel’s self defense conflicts is warmly accepted by the Obama administration and is very well funded; and let’s not forget the Jewish high ranking leaders surrounding Obama such as Rahm Emanuel, David Axelrod, Dan Shapiro, and the other good American Jews working with Obama as a fifth column; and lately, Obama’s shocking announcement of nominating Mary Robinson, the most vicious anti-Israel spokesman who presided over the UN’s notorious Durban conference in 2001, to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

I reiterate what I said previously, and I believe this to be a sure-fire strategy: to elevate your standing in the global community a thousand-fold, and even receive large funds and bonuses, just start bashing Israel, denounce settlement activity and promulgate expulsion of settlers, become a partisan for Israel’s dismemberment and even annihilation, schmooze with terrorist organizations,  request for a Judenrein Palestinian state and the return of millions of Arab refugees to Israel, and use your influence to promote a weak Israel since according to the Jerusalem Post’s Carolyn Glick “Successive governments in Jerusalem, from the Rabin-Peres government to the Barak, Sharon and Olmert governments, all embraced the Arabist view that regional stability and hence Israeli security is enhanced by a weakened Israel.”

The good news for Israel is that the demonization of Israel has instilled a rising specter of anti-semitism especially across Europe unlike anything seen since World War II, and this alarming anti-semitic trend has prompted a big rise in the number of European Jewry immigrating to Israel, and I anticipate that this trend will increase exponentially, to fulfill Isaiah’s prophesy (11:12; 27:13; 56:8; 66:20) on the ingathering of the exiles.

DESTRUCTION AND REDEMPTION

July 28, 2009 by yipbop · Leave a Comment

MODEL OF THE SECOND TEMPLE ISRAELThis coming Thursday marks the anniversary of the destruction of the two Jewish temples that stood in the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Coincidentally, both of these temples were destroyed on the same date of the Jewish calendar, the 9th of Av. Orthodox Jewry throughout the world will mark this solemn day with a 25-hour fasting and will traditionally pray in Israel at the so-called Western Wall, or Wailing Wall, the last remaining structure of the Second Temple which was built by Herod the Great in 26 A.D.

Why am I mentioning this particular event in the Jewish calendar? Well, just a reminder to all of you that the Temples served as God’s ‘footstool’ portraying His presence on earth and their destruction had a profound impact on the Jewish people. Subsequently, the Jews endured 2,000 years of pogroms, inquisitions, deportations culminating in the Holocaust. Against all odds, in 1948, came the birth of the Jewish state. However, in just its embryonic state, Israel had to defend itself against a succession of wars perpetrated by Arab countries bent on Israel’s destruction. Miraculously, Israel won every war, and in 1967 as a result of the Six Day War, Israel gained all of Jerusalem, the Golan Heights, Sinai, the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank (historically known as Judea and Samaria). However, once again, there is an ominous threat hovering over the Jews, this time voiced by the Iranian President Ahmadinejad who wishes to erase Israel from the map. This malevolent threat, however, seems to go on deaf ears by the world community. Rather than focusing on eliminating this peril swiftly, the world’s debate appears to focus ad nauseam on when this travesty of a nation such as Iran is supposed to have nuclear weaponry – is it in six months, one year, two years, five, … who cares? The point is that in the meantime, the wicked wheels keep turning and the clock is ticking very fast.

The Iranian dictator’s canards differ from those of Hitler’s only in terms of the label: Ahmadinejad calls Jews “Zionists” instead of “Juden.”  His intentions, similarly to those of the bogus Palestinians, are racist rather than territorial and promoted by the religious belief that eradicating Israel from the world map would hasten the coming of their 12th Imam. And in the face of such an ugly menace against Israel, the theater of the absurd was well represented when the U.N. and Columbia University invited this fanatic dictator to deliver hateful diatribes. But what would you expect when radical Muslims who are vehemently anti-Israel are invading the continent?  Europe is becoming Eurabia and the U.S.’s President Barack Hussein Obama is vehemently apologizing and schmoozing with the Arab world? Just remember or read history – during the Holocaust, when millions of Jews were sent to the ovens, not one nation in the world stood for them, and today it appears that once again no one is siding with Israel or Jews in general. Rather, the world leaders are negotiating with unreliable dictators and pressuring Israel to divide itself into two halves to accommodate the birth of a phony Palestinian Islamic entity whose covenant of annihilating Israel has never been changed. In fact what the U.S., U.N., E.U., and the world leaders in general are demanding from Israel are nothing short of suicidal, yet once again, no one seems to care.

The destruction of the first and second temples in Jerusalem were attributed by the sages to sinat chinam (baseless hatred) among Jews, a spiritual tragedy which caused the retreat of the Divine Presence and the subsequent 2,000-year exile, inquisitions, Crusades, pogroms and holocaust. The birth of the State of Israel has been recognized as nothing short of a redemptive beginning coupled with the ingathering of the exiles and the future reconstruction of the Third Temple as predicted by the Prophets over three thousand years ago.  The only string missing is that Jews must return to God’s covenant and remember who they are so that peace can finally prevail throughout the world with “the wolf and lamb grazing together…” as prophesied by Isaiah 65:25.

PARTITION IS A NO, NO

May 26, 2009 by yipbop · Leave a Comment

partition is a no no 300x300 PARTITION IS A NO, NOWe have all heard from reliable sources and historical facts that Israel is not bound to give up any land, especially to terrorist entities whose covenant is to destroy Jewish existence in the Middle East. But we have a problem; the non-Arab people inhabiting the Western world are so afraid to lose or to have their oil interrupted on account of Israel’s existence, in addition to having their lives disrupted by acts of terrorism, that Israel’s survival is the least of their worries. The major problem facing the Free world is either ignorance, sublime optimism that nothing will ever happen to them, stupidity, or all of the above.

Those in the world who are well acquainted with Jewish and Israel’s history are cognizant of the fact that a sovereign country called Palestine never existed prior to 1948 or even 1967. In fact, Security Council 242 never promised to the so-called “Palestinians” that they will ever have a country called Palestine. During the war of Independence in 1948 where the Jewish people in their newborn state had to defend themselves from annihilation, the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) and Gaza fell illegally under the control of Egypt and Jordan who exercised unauthorized and cruel control over these territories. What is most eye-opening is the fact that in 1922, Great Britain of their own volition, split the 78% of the land which was entitled to the Jewish people, and gave it on a silver platter to King Abdullah, himself not a Palestinian. In 1947, a second partition to give land to the Arabs was enacted by the new United Nations. What transpired is that the Arabs did not accept dividing the land with the Jews.   In 1967, against all odds, miraculously, Israel won a defensive war against several Arab armies which gave Israel control of all the land illegally taken by Jordan and Egypt, including Jerusalem and the Golan Heights from Syria.

In biblical terms, Israel has been and is the homeland of the Jewish people for thousands of years. Jewish kings reigned in this land, including Saul, David and Solomon among many others, and two Jewish temples stood before they were destroyed, surprisingly exactly on the same date by the Babylonians and then the Romans. Because the Jewish people rebelled against God, they were exiled to Babylon and then to the four corners of the world until the miraculous birth of the State of Israel some two thousand years later.

This simplified history of the Jewish people’s unequivocal roots to the Land of Israel, the political maneuvers by Great Britain and the hostility of the Arab world that ensued, should remind everyone that Israel has the right and even more so than any other country in the world to hold on to the entire land of Israel and secure it against intruders calling themselves Palestinians. Israel is microscopic in size and any partition with those whose aim is to destroy the Jewish state would render it with indefensible borders. The Arabs have been blessed with 22 Arab countries and they can make room for a 23rd country in their midst if they so wished. They could also make room for the so-called Arab refugees who are perpetually in U.N.-sponsored camps such as UNRWA. But this is unlikely, because the conflict is not about land, but about a violent and implacable ideology. Until the Western world acknowledges and assimilates this concept, peace will never exist in this part of the world.

ISRAEL’S GOVERNMENT BLUNDER AFTER BLUNDER

May 12, 2009 by yipbop · 2 Comments

israel government blunder 300x200 ISRAEL’S GOVERNMENT BLUNDER AFTER BLUNDERI believe that since Israel won the miraculous 1967 Six-day war against Arab countries, its successive governments have consistently failed to safeguard its population and have in fact aggravated the terrorist threats that have produced so many deaths and maimed Jews throughout the subsequent years. One major cause for this failure has been the secularization of the different governments of Israel who believe that Israel’s survival is dependent on kowtowing to the Western world’s tragic demands, and on turning Israel into a post-Zionist country which will emulate Europe. The same tragic mistake occurred when Jews in Germany tried to assimilate.

It has now been proven, that the policies of the past and of the recent leaders of Israel have turned into a nightmarish life for its citizens and is endangering Israel’s survival. The major flaw by these so-called Jewish leaders originated with the unnatural welcoming of the arch-terrorist Arafat to Israel’s shores from Tunis together with his entire ilk, including Abbas. This was followed by the deviant signed Oslo Accord in September 13, 1993 between Arafat and Rabin in the presence of its architect, Peres and the then U.S. President Clinton outlining Palestinian self-government, and followed by another agreement in 1995 that provided the Palestinians with even more  self-government powers. What did Israel get in return? Not much; just a piece of paper signed by the hypocritical two-tongued terrorist Arafat, pledging recognition of Israel and renouncing violence. Ironically, this arch-terrorist was entrusted by the Israeli leaders to protect them from terrorism! Unfortunately, Jericho, one of Israel’s most venerated cities, was surrendered to the PLO in addition to the equally holy city of Hebron and the self-governing power in Judea and Samaria (now called by the world as West Bank). What transpired afterwards was the most catastrophic failure of any Israeli government:   the second intifada which caused hundreds of Israeli deaths, and thousands of injuries.

The next Israeli government’s blunder was the failed second Lebanon war which was triggered by Israel’s embarrassing retreat (ordered by Barak) from Lebanon under the darkness of night in the summer of 2006. This blunder empowered Hezbollah, a satellite of Iran. This stupidity was again repeated by yet the most brainless and insane complete withdrawal from Gaza and the expulsion of over 8,000 Jews from their homes and businesses. This unilateral withdrawal has turned Gaza into an enclave of Jew hating arch-terrorists, funded and trained by Iran, which is now called “Hamastan.” The Israeli leaders governing Israel, in addition to the Israeli media and its left-wing academics, are so weak and credulous that they believe that by withdrawing from land, that terrorism would abate. Blunder after blunder by our leaders has only produced even more terrorism and insecurity. Will they never learn?

To aggravate matters even further, our ineffective and weak government is mulling over a plan to give up East Jerusalem, including our most venerated site, the Temple Mount and create a Palestinian terrorist state in the belly of Israel. After so many tragic mistakes committed by the secular and accommodating Israeli leaders of Israel, one wonders what it would take to turn things around so that Israel can finally stand proudly on its own two feet and reject more unreasonable demands by the U.S. and Europe designed for Israel’s annihilation. We need leaders who believe in the words of the Hebrew Scriptures which call for a courageous redeemer that would have the faith and resolute mind that King David had. In the words of Jeremiah: “Instead, they will serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them.” Ironically, if the U.S. and Europe abandon Israel, it will instead work to Israel’s benefit.

ISRAEL – HOME OF INNOVATION

May 4, 2009 by yipbop · 1 Comment

israel-innovationsThis essay does not suggest appearing arrogant for any critic to object to it; however, the remarkable fact is that this tiny country where the major population centers are squeezed between the green line and the sea, slightly smaller than New Jersey or Lake Michigan, has in just 61 years, in spite of unrelenting defensive wars and terrorism, succeeded to be a major player in the world in high tech, biotech, genetics, medicine, agriculture, solar energy, and more, and has produced startling technological and scientific achievements. This writer wonders why a country that is contributing so much to the world relative to its size be the object of so much demonization and scrutiny. In truth, what Israel lacks in natural resources it makes up for in innovation and brainpower, and even depends on God’s good auspices to send its yearly rain.

In proportion to its population, except the U.S., Israel has the largest number of high tech start-up companies in the world, some 3,500, and the largest number of NASDAQ listed companies. Venture capitals around the world are cognizant of this fact and invest billions of dollars in these companies. Giant companies such as Google, Microsoft, Kodak, Cisco, HP, Motorola, Intel  and many more have large scale research and development centers in Israel. I do not know how many of you are aware that AOL instant messenger originates from Israel? That your computer’s major parts of Windows’s operating system were developed in Israel? That Motorola’s commercial cell phone was developed in Israel? And the list goes on and on.

In the medical field, just recently, utilizing the science behind nanotechnology, the Weizmann Institute of Technology has developed a molecular biocomputer to assist in cancer research. Moreover, this university also uncovered new findings that may have implications in delaying and slowing down cognitive deterioration of old age and they have also developed a method that allows bone marrow cells to be transplanted into leukemia patients from noncompatible donors – greatly increasing the possibility of effective treatment. You should also know that Israel also produced state-of-the-art surgical lasers, fully computerized no-radiation diagnostic instrumentation for breast cancer, an intelligent medical sensor that can be used to track and direct instruments to an exact three-dimensional location in the heart or other organs via a real-time virtual image, the fully flexible waveguide fiber for endoscopic surgery, unique computerized monitoring systems for critical care patients, pain relieving transcutaneous devices and a revolutionary autoclave design to combat AIDS and other infectious diseases, and of course let’s not forget the camera in a pill. And the list goes on and on.

In military technology, Israel produced the Uzi gun and the advanced anti-ballistic defense system like the Arrow (with the US) and is one among a small group of nations in the world that launched a satellite into orbit. In agriculture, Israel is known as a worldwide leader on agriculture innovations and reuses almost 70 percent of its waste water each year for agriculture. This knowledge is also used to assist hundreds of thousands of people in developing countries. Recently, Israel developed a device that enables plants to send a text message when they need water.

The above Israel’s contributions are just a drop in the ocean and are too many to list. All of this while fighting terrorism on the one hand and placating the suicidal impositions from the Western world on the other.  Could one imagine what additional stellar contributions might be made if Israel lived in peace?
