JEW HATRED OR ENVY?

JEW HATRED OR ENVY?

As if the horrors of anti-Semitism, Nazism and the slaughter of 6 million Jews in the 1930’s have not impacted on the morality and minds of the people in this world, a striking similar form of hatred towards Judaism is raising its ugly head in the civilized world, especially in Europe and yes, the U.S. Lately, as you well know, a proposal to ban the circumcision of male children in San Francisco has been cleared to appear on the November ballot. This shocking initiative qualified for the ballot with more than 7,700 valid signatures from city residents. The “offense” is punishable by a fine of up to $1000 or up to one year in jail.  To compound this initiative, a blatantly anti-Semitic cartoon has surfaced which represents a slap in the face of Jews not only in California but throughout the world.

The cartoon in question is an internet comic strip called Foreskin Man and features a blond-haired, blue-eyed hero battling a mohel depicted as a monster. (A mohel is a Jewish person who performs circumcisions.) Circumcision of boys when they reach the age of 8 days is a very profound and religious ritual that has predated recorded history. Actually, the 7,000+ persons who signed this bill are telling the Jewish community in the San Francisco bay area and elsewhere that Jewish religious practices and presence are not welcome, and in fact, they are telling them to get out! These signatories are actually committing the worse kind of anti-Semitism under the cover of “human rights.” When the cartoon in question depicts a rabbi with rabid, blood-thirsty eyes, branding a knife, what do you think these “human protectors” are actually practicing if not blatant anti-semitism? That this type of Jewish depiction which predates the Holocaust by such nazi luminaries as Goebbels, Hitler’s Minister of Propaganda, seems to be irrelevant and worth emulating by the proponents of this bill.

What these so-called humanitarian clowns are not telling you is that, in fact, the foreskin poses a risk to the male from various diseases over his lifetime and that upon the recommendation of the World Health Organization widespread male circumcision in Africa could prevent 2 million new HIV cases per year. Not only that, several studies since 1999 have documented that an uncircumcised male partner may also increase a woman’s risk of breast cancer.

Thus, this hatred towards anything that characterizes Jewish religion such as the ban on circumcision as well as the Jewish ritual slaughter of animals have come under attack a la Nazi and Hamas style and is a tactic to sow hatred. San Francisco, which is the Gay capital of the world, should learn a thing or two about Jewish practices that have brought forth high moral and ethical standards to the world. At the rate this society is going, which is in fact turning the world upside down, these so-called human right proponents should instead focus on such abhorrent issues such as impinging on the traditional marriage between a man and a woman, teaching elementary kids about same sex relationships, and pornography which has invaded our movie and television screens, newsstands, and the Internet. The proposition to ban the oldest Jewish tradition in the world, a practice that dates over 4,000 years which represents the strongest covenant between God and the Jewish people, is a premeditated step to delegitimize and desecrate the Jewish scriptures and proclaim to the Jewish citizens that their presence is not welcome among them.

Whether this bill passes or not, the intention is blatantly exposed. It tells us that Jews and Israel for that matter are being targeted and that the forces of evil are trying, once again, to demoralize and delegitimize the very people that brought the concepts of freedom of religion, justice, independence and human rights to the world.
